All you need to split the charge from your engine between the main cranking battery and a second, auxiliary battery (a deep cycle winch battery for example). This kit links both batteries for charging, but automatically isolates them whilst discharging. The display unit features a manual over-ride option. This kit is to suit 12v charging system and has a 180A load capacity. Kit includes solenoid, display unit, wiring, connectors and full instructions.

This is a deep cycle battery which means that it is the ideal second battery in a split charging set up; used to run things like winches; fridges etc; where the battery may be run right down. This degree of discharge can cause damage to normal cranking batteries but the Optima Yellow Top is designed for it. These units also incorperate the spiral gel cell used in the Red Top batteries.

These fully sealed; batteries use a special spiral of thin lead sheets; rather than the tradtional flat electrodes to increase the elctrode/electrolite interface area by more than 100%. This gives up to three times the life and twice the starting power of a good tradtional battery. The gel electrolite used; and the fully sealed constrution also leads to a very robust and easy to mount battery.
